The Patas Monkey is generally found in the open, wooded steppes and savnnah south of the Sahara. Patas prefer open grassland areas, often near rivers.
family life
Family groups usually consists of a single male, with around 15 females and young. Surplus males live in separate groups. Several of them will occasionally approach a troop of females and set about their single male in an attempt to drive him away and take his place.
