mandrill facts
A single male leads a group, called a harem, of around 30 animals. If a big source of food is found, groups can join together to form large groups of up to 250 animals. Female Mandrills will only give birth to a single baby at a time.
Males will open their mouth, showing their impressive teeth, and nod their head to try and scare potential predators.
Mandrills are extremely good at jumping between trees, often jumping more than 5m. They hide in trees when threatened.
Mandrills can live to be 45.
